Traceable Organic Clothing

Central to our mission at Holy Cow is a commitment to transparency.
This is one of the reasons we developed Holy Cow Product Tracking. Using a unique 9-digit tracking code, Holy Cow customers trace their product’s fabric to the farm field where the cotton was grown. Clicking on any of the steps of production reveals even more information about how the item was created. This is one of tools we use to share with you the Holy Cow creation story. What’s next? On Earth Day, April 22, we will take off for India to visit organic farmers in central and southern parts of the country. We will be creating short documentary films covering these farmers and their practices to promote the benefits of sustainable clothing and health benefits to our friends around the world. More to come on this so stay tuned.
Coming to a Whole Foods Near You

We have some exciting news to share. Holy Cow is partnering with Whole Foods Market stores in several midwest states. (Find a Holy Cow, Whole Foods location near you). Holy Cow traceable organic clothing, a first of its kind, will hit shelves the first week of February. We are thrilled to partner with Whole Foods, the premier shopping destination for organic and sustainable products. Creating this partnership allows us to share the benefits of sustainable clothing and the story behind the product with an even larger population, which is hugely exciting. Justin and Abby’s Top 6 for Chicago Green Clothing

After making quite a few Whole Foods and green boutique store visits, Abby and I caught up for a beverage in Lincoln Park and pulled together a list of the top places in the Chicago area to find sustainable clothing:
1) A Cooler Planet. An eco-lifestyle store with sustainable, organic, fair trade home and clothing options. I’d say owners Heidi Bailey and Krista White have done a great job with branding and identity.
2) Little Green Baby. Pesticide free clothing for the little ones.
3) Green Genes. Organic, recycled and re-purposed gear in the Andersonville neighborhood.
4) Asinamali of Evanston. Very cool, unexpected Women’s clothing, accessories.
5) Whole Foods Market. A variety of eco-fashion from great lines including Green Label, Indigenous Designs and Maggie’s Organics.
6) Pivot Boutique. The place in Chicago for chic eco-wear. A bit hard to find but worth the search.

For those of you in our home state of MN, check out the latest Holy Cow retailer: Birch Clothing Birch is a top notch green boutique in Southwest Minneapolis filled with fairly traded and beautifully styled wear. Along with sustainable gear including our nearly sold-out Recycle Love tee, the shop carries accessories made from recycled materials, bamboo and hemp. Huge props to Birch and stores owners Marti Markus and Ellen Gavin. Holy Cow is proud to be in the mix.
